The Developing Irish Sea Cooperation (DISC) project is a two‑year PEACEPLUS‑funded initiative strengthening collaboration between Ireland, Northern Ireland, Wales, and Scotland. The Scottish Government will host the next DISC Symposium in Edinburgh on 26 February 2026, bringing together policymakers, researchers, and regional partners.
For the Scottish Arctic Network, the Sustainable Blue Economy workshop should be of particular interest. Chaired by Dr Denise Risch (Scottish Association for Marine Science) and Professor Colin Adams (University of Glasgow), the session will explore shared marine challenges and opportunities across the Irish Sea region, including climate‑resilient coasts, responsible resource use, and research collaboration.
The event features morning speeches and a mid‑term DISC review, followed by three thematic workshops. Hybrid participation is available. Registration is open via Eventbrite.
